Welcome to Fourth Grade! 

I am pleased to be in my sixth year of teaching fourth grade at Shirland School.  I am very fortunate to teach in such a wonderful community.  I have been in education for over twenty years, including ten years teaching fifth grade.  I am a graduate of both Rock Valley College and Rockford College.  I received my master's degree from St. Xavier University in May 2008. 

While at Shirland School, I have been included in Who's Who Among American Teachers and Educators in 2004 and 2007.  Mrs. Haney, our former school librarian, and I were also awarded a grant in 2006 to fund a mystery genre project. 

I live in Roscoe with my husband and two daughters.  I am an assistant Girl Scout leader for my younger daughter's troop.  I am also a 4-H judge (visual arts) for the Winnebago County Fair.  I enjoy spending time with my family, but also enjoy "me" time when I can go shopping or read.  Quite often I can be seen walking on the Hononegah Recreation Path.
